Learned more about Kinship Center

So today I learned more about what Kinship Center does. I learned about questionaires that they use for the kids to take to see if they how developed they are in certain areas, such as fine and gross motor skills and such. I even got to meet more people who work there and what their jobs are. One of the tasks I worked on was to print out the pictures I thought were best for the brochure for a camp that the organization hosts.

  1. I learned about how they travel to adopted kids' homes and not just see how the kids are doing, but also see how the guardians take care of them. I learned about a camp (I forgot the name) which they host for troubled kids and those without families. I might be interested in volunteering for that camp, if given the opportunity.

  2. I enjoy following your project and I'm interested in seeing the whole picture come together. Regarding the questionaires, do you know what they do once they have the results? Keep up the good work!

  3. Hello Mrs. May, sorry about the wait, yes, the results of the questionaires are sent back to the guardians for them to look over and try to work on when taking care of their adopted children. The questions primarily regard how a child is able to do an activity (i.e, drawing, emptying a bottle which has a small pebble, throwing a ball) without doing something wrong (i.e, emotional breakdown, not knowing what to do, not taking part in the activity at all). I hope that answered your question. :)
